Matrimony
Probably the first words you heard when you announced your engagement were "Congratulations" or "Good Luck."  Well, the first words we want to say to you as you begin preparations to celebrate marriage in the Church are:  "Thank you for the beautiful gifts and joy you are giving to us!"   Often the decision to marry and the plans that are made for the wedding are seen as private things.  But when you decide to marry, you are helping us all to remember and celebrate what it means for us to be the Church, to be God's people, to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

So often when Jesus spoke of the kingdom of heaven, He compared it to a wedding feast.  We are all invited to that feast where Christ, Himself, is the eternal Bridegroom!  The commitment that you make to each other is a reminder of God's commitment to us and our commitment given in Baptism.  As you give yourselves to each other, we are reminded of the gift God gives us in the person of Jesus.

As you prepare for this wedding and rest of your lives together, remember our gratitude for the gift of faithful love and joy that you are to the community of
St. Joseph.

In His Love,
The Wedding Team
