Holy Orders
“Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time: thus it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry. It includes three degrees: episcopate (bishop), presbyterate (priest), and diaconate (deacon)” (Catechism of the Catholic Church #1536).

The life of the Church is uniquely tied to the Sacrament of Holy Orders because without Holy Orders we would not have bishops, priests, or deacons. Through this sacrament, the Church is able to continue the mission of Jesus Christ.

Órdenes Sagradas
"Órdenes sagradas es el sacramento por el cual la misión confiada por Cristo a sus apóstoles sigue siendo ejercida en la Iglesia hasta el fin de los tiempos: por lo tanto, es el sacramento del ministerio apostólico. Comprende tres grados: El episcopado (obispo), presbiterio (sacerdote), y el diaconado (diácono)" (Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica #1536).
 
La vida de la Iglesia se encuentra en una posición única vinculada con el sacramento del Orden porque sin órdenes sagradas, no habríamos obispos, sacerdotes o diáconos. A través de este sacramento, la Iglesia es capaz de continuar la misión de Jesucristo.
